Microscopes in scientific laboratory

Microscopy (in-person!)

Students will become proficient in light and electron microscopy, both by learning the underlying optical physics, and by preparing, imaging, and analyzing biological samples. Students will learn to properly operate compound microscopes, stereo microscopes, fluorescent, and electron microscopes (SEM and TEM). Students will also gain experience analyzing images obtained from each of these modalities.

An intensive, 20 learning hour, in-person bootcamp!

Ideal student:

Rising junior or senior with at least a 2.5 gpa, including successful completion of 100- and 200- level Science courses.
