Student Worker

Hours/Week: 10 – 20

Position Summary:

The Executive Director of Research and Innovation is seeking a self-starter, highly motivated student worker to provide support in a variety of areas including research-driven projects, program development proposals, event management, marketing initiatives, and general office administrative duties. Our office developments and implements a variety of high-impact, supplemental programs and initiatives for students and community stakeholders within Southern and beyond.

The student worker will provide support to all Division of Research and Innovation (DRI) affiliated offices with primary support to the Offices of STEM Research & Innovation and Sustainability. The student worker will be focused on supporting our marketing efforts with additional support for program development, implementation, and assessment as needed.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be self-starters interested in STEM education as well as helping students and the community; additionally, successful applicants will possess strong written and verbal communication as well as creative problem-solving skills. The chosen graduate assistant should be well versed in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel in addition to other programs necessary to support effective marketing campaigns. An ability to lead high-level group projects is highly desirable.

Candidates with a background or experience in marketing, event management, creative writing, graphic design are strongly preferred.

Candidates with a backgrounds or interest in STEM and STEM education are also encouraged to apply.

Student Workers must be available to work 10 – 20 hours per week during regular business hours (i.e., 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, Monday-Friday).
